JV2 Girls Volleyball - 2nd Place at ISAC

The JV2 Girls went into the ISAC tournament as number 1 seeds finished top of the league table. We had a bye in the first round and then needed to beat the hosts BISS to reach the final. Only the winner of the tournament is promoted to division 2.

Our girls started slowly (a trait we have displayed all year) and suddenly found ourselves 2-0 and facing elimination which would have been a major disaster for us. Another trait we have shown this year is the ability to come back from behind and amazingly we pulled the next 2 sets back to level the match at 2-2. We were joined by Trisha and Lynette who arrived late due to PSAT testing and it had a positive impact on our performance. We took the hosts to a 5th set and with positive energy and commitment took the 5th set to win an amazing game and get through to the final.

The final would be against DCB who we had beaten 3-0 in the league in close set games, so we new we had to start strong and try to get an early lead. DCB were a little more aggressive and consistent in their passes and pushed ahead to a 2-0 lead. We didn't panic and once again tried to come back from behind and took an early lead in the 3rd set but could not hold on and sadly lost the set to finish 2nd place for the 3rd year in a row. The girls bonded well as a group and enjoyed the season and the coaches would like to thank the players for all their hard work this season.

JV2 Girls lose close 5 set match against Keystone

The JV2 girls had an epic volleyball battle with Keystone and lost the first 2 sets by 2 points in each game and then amazingly won the next 2 sets (also by a margin of 2 points) to set up a decider. The WAB girls went into an early lead but Keystone clawed back to take the match 15 - 13. The girls were disappointed but that is how far they have come as there expectations are now a lot higher. We go into the weekend tournament ranked the number 1 seed and will try to become the first JV2 Girls team to win the division 3 title. Good Luck girls !

U12 Girls Football Result BSB 0 WAB 1

The U12 Girls football team won another tough physical encounter against the previously unbeaten BSB team who were much bigger than ourselves. The tiny tigers however, made up for the lack of size with a lot more skill and really tried to play football and move the ball around. They will need more body armour for the big end of season tournament next weekend which promises to be a very exciting tournament.

Well done ladies
