An amazing track and field competition took place at the International School of Beijing. WAB came away with six gold, three silver and one bronze medal as well as the girls sportsmanship award. On Friday Ulrik Karlsson won the high jump from his team mate Thomas Rasmussen with an amazing jump of 1.78m. That afternoon Ulrik waited until the last round to take gold in the triple jump with a leap of 12.63m whilst Thomas took the bronze. At the other end of the track the most amazing girls high jump competition was taking place where Kirsten Terkelsen was competing. She jumped a new APAC record to take the gold medal and rewrite the record books by three centimeters at 1.51m.
On Saturday Emilia Sullstrom broke two APAC records in the 100m hurdles and the 400m hurdles. She lowered the record in the 100m hurdles to 15.65s and lowered her own APAC record in the 400m hurdles to 1:09.51. Ing Xhu Lim had to settle for two silvers in the boys 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles recording amazing times of 15.98s and 1:04.31 respectively.
Late in the afternoon Thomas Rasmussen won the boys long jump with a brilliant leap of 5.64m. This took his medal total for APAC to an amazing six medals in his track and field career.
The girls team topped off an excellent APAC by receiving the sportsmanship award.
