The Young Tigers out of the wood are a part of history!

The WAB Golf team headed to Shanghai April 21st to compete in the Craig Davis APAC Trial Invitational Golf tournament. The tournament had 48 students from 8 different APAC schools competing at the Shanghai Links golf course and has laid the foundations for golf as a sport in the Asia Pacific Activities Conference WAB’s premier Activities and Athletics conference.

WAB was able to send 1 team of 4 golfers including Aslan R, Jaxson F, James C, Jimmy L. WAB finished middle of the pack recording personal best scores (in competition), which coaches are proud of. The team showed great comradery throughout the trip which was led by co-captain Jaxson. While co-captain Amanda couldn't make the trip she was proud of her team for making good progress in their scores

Competition was high with some golfers attending the competition carded scores of +0, -1, -2 and -13 (from the winner). Aslan and Jimmy finished T10 and Jaxson finished 11th. Jaxson was also awarded a Craig Davis award.

The Craig Davis Eagle Code Award, dedicated to the memory of Craig Davis, a revered figure at SAS known for his positive attitude and commitment to helping others, celebrates the golfer who embodies exceptional engagement, respect, and gratitude during the tournament. This prestigious honor highlights sportsmanship, camaraderie, and integrity on and off the course, recognizing individuals who show passion for the game, respect for all, and genuine gratitude for the opportunity to compete.

Golf Joining APAC will mean great things for our sport as students are given a team competitive platform for a traditionally individual sport, and something they may see in college and university programs. We hope to see growth in our program from our community and athletes because of this.
